Behr Paint and Primer in one.

I think I figured it out. Primer sucks as a top coat, and paint sucks as a primer. Behr sucks as a primer and a topcoat, therefore it must be primer and paint in one.

it's just behr

if someone was doing a painting project this weekend would have been the time with the 40% off at sherwin williams. classic pro was $30 and classic 99 $17, ceiling paint $15, i stocked up for the few winter projects i have going.

No sooner do I put up a post like this then we walk into a ceiling only job yesterday where the customer already bought the paint. Ugg. Behr Ceiling paint. We did 4 ceilings and we had 4 gallons. These are your average size rooms with the largest one maybe being 14 x 16. It took all 4 gallons, it was white on white, and the job looked like ****. We tried to get her to pay for 2 coats up front and even after the job but the lady was happy..... I think she just didn't want to shell out any more $$......

streaky right? i've tried it all to make both valspar and behr ceiling paint not streak. you HAVE to use an airless to have any hope of this stuff laying down right. the worst part is it's like $21 a gallon for that crap you put up and SW classic 99 ceiling paint is only $25 at full retail

There was just an ad on for HD & primer/paint in one
Wife says that what we should get
It will save time...........I say.....
"But we have used Behr thru-out the house"
....Yeah.....but not anymore
The $15 Glidden from Chinamart went on easier then the Behr
...and covered better

Wow...I just bought a couple of gallons of Behr stain for my deck. Do you all think just as poorly of their deck stains??

racebum 09-30-2010 03:05 AM

it depends. if i have to get any paint at HD or lowes it's always lowes. valspar just seems to suck less. it's not wonderful by any means, their signature and duramax lines are actually pretty good though. i just rarely use them since i have a sherwin williams close by and prefer their paints dollar for dollar over the two big chains. the single worst trait both behr and valspar have in their regular lines is not knowing when a color is going to suck. i've actually been given multiple colors of both brands for various projects and sometimes they wind up being alright, lay down flat and have a good pigment to them. that being said i can think of one light green in behr and one beige in valspar that wound up being primer while i bought the top coat at SW. both of them were WAY too streaky for a finish coat. way way too much color fade. what it reminded me of was an extremely low solids volume.
