Bathroom vanity clear coat mishap

Hi all. 1st time posting. OK, so I've been painting my bathroom vanity for the past week and finally fished last night. Assuming the finish would need a protective barrier, I purchased a can of Rustoleum clear spray enamel. Only used it on the actual unit initially as the drawers and doors are still detached. Not liking the sheen it added nor the unevenness. Further reading today explained that a top clear coat was not even a necessity for non-high traffic areas. So I'm now stuck with an uneven, glossy vanity and doors and drawers that are perfect.

Is it at all possible to just sand the clear coat and add another coat or 2 of my regular paint? Or will i have to do the inevitable and totally sand, re-prime and repaint. If the latter, I may just have to spray the entire thing and live with it.

Give it time to dry....scuff it with 200 sandpaper....and paint it again.

Thanks for the prompt response. And will I not need to re-prime in order for the original paint to adhere to the botched/sanded clear coat? Its acrylic spray if that matters.

As long as they are both the same types (water based)...not an issue....just give it plenty of time to dry.

Makes sense. Whew, thought I just wasted a week painting this thing.

Don't give it too long, you don't want that clear coat to cure.
