I'm prepping the exterior of a small house for paint, and spent the entire day scraping off the old flaking paint. This house was painted once in the 1980s. Its T-111 siding and in rough shape.
The lower half of the wall is extremely flakey, while the upper half is still in decent shape, no flakes whatsoever. The flake areas I scraped down to bare wood, but I don't want to scrape the upper areas if I don't really need to.
So my question is this, will I be able to primer/paint/paint over that entire wall without seeing the transition from bare wood to old paint?
I will try and post a picture tonight to give you a better idea...
Thanks in advance everyone!
