I still think you need to get a lawyer, actually should have by now and go after HD, they have very deep pockets. The lawyer will make a % of the take and you will get a home properly taken care of. You should NOT be out there getting estimates. The damage is done and THEY need to fix it, not you. If this does not sink in with what the rest of us have said, then I am done preaching. I WISH it happened to me, new home, $ in the bank from mental anguish, and so on.I am usually not the kind of person that would recommend a lawsuit as I believe this society is way to litigious, but, this certainly justifies it,IMO.

$9000 should have got you new siding.
