After top coat, isolated flaws... Quick fix??

After repairing, sanding, priming and finally top coating a ceiling, I notice an area that has minor drywall damage and an area that has a stain showing. Im working on a white ceiling...

My question is can I get away with repairing damage, spot prime just the repaired area and stained area and spot top coat these two areas?

Depends on alot of things.
First- what exactly was your finish coat?
How does the light hit the ceiling? Window on the west wall spill across it in the afternoon?
Other light considerations- light and paint is all important.

There is a window on the West and North, and a fan/light in the center.

I haven't used that paint, but I have heard from those that have that it can be tricky and is not really "flat", which would help your situation.
I would do the repairs, use some BIN on the stains, sand and hit the spots with a roller at least twice with the finish. Feather it out so it has the possibility of blending in, and look at it in different lights.
if it doesn't cut it- will need a full coat.
even then it might be questionable. If it were me i'd use BM Waterborne Ceiling paint or BM's Muresco- but I'm familiar with them and how they work.

I think the key is the BIN since there is a stain bleeding thru. But next question, is it an old stain, where did it come from, and has the source been repaired?

I think Im leaning toward not liking SW HP ceiling paint as well. After improving some drywall flaws and covering the stain, I applied a second coat. 1/2 of the ceiling came out acceptable but the other half shows roller marks. I attempted a third coat over the half that looked bad, it improved it but it still looks bad IMO.

SW rep said it couldve been a bad batch so I tried a new batch with the third coat. They also mentioned using their Cashimere or all in one paint. I think Im going to switch to a different paint for the ceiling, any opinions for SW paint?
