you are all elitists!

I posted before I read any of the posts, but as I was reading, I realized that you all actually look down on those of us who aren't really knowledgable about how to do all of this. May I take the occasion to remind you all that you were'nt born knowing all that you know. Sometimes that's easy to forget. We all start somewhere. Please be kind.

Thanks. I truly enjoy spending my time helping others like yourself. Volunteering free information to help home owners successfully complete projects that would otherwise cost them hundreds if not thousands of dollars is very satisfying work. I sleep very well at night.

Good luck with your projects.

What a horribly broad-brushed generalization of the numerous professionals that take the time to assist all levels of DIYers, from other professional tradesmen to people that are just learning the basics.

I'll tell you what...
If I looked down on anyone that has the intelligence to get online and ask questions about the projects they're working on as opposed to winging it, I wouldn't spend as much time here as I do. I'd hang out only in forums with construction professionals.

I will bend over backwards to help someone out, unless they're obviously in way over their head. If they're biting off more than they can chew, I'll say so. There are occasionally people that attempt to tackle work that is much too complicated or difficult for their specific skills and knowledge. If people aren't ready to hear sound advice, don't ask the question.

I'll watch for your posts and will be careful to only tell you what you want to hear. If you see me asking a question in a post, please refrain from assisting an elitist such as myself.

I am pretty much learning as I go, when it comes to home repairs. My profession is Television repair, and I have helped those that I can, when I can. I do not pretend to know everything, thats why I ask questions when I am uncertan about something. I have never felt that anyone was looking down at me. Smile, the pros are here to help.

Welcome to the forum Elitists ? You don't really have to be a "General" to post in the "General Discussion" area.

We will be happy to help you in any way we can. I can honestly say that I am still learning myself.

Well, if you asked a question and no one replied, it's likely that either:

A) no one knew the answer to your question, or

B) you posted it during the three hours we set aside every evening for silent meditation and self awareness.

Post your question again in here, and we'll give it our best shot.

Breeze - you are the one that is elitest!!

You made a somewhat meaningless post with no real question to help you with. About 19 minutes later, you got mad from no response, so you shot off a worthless comment that gave neither facts or a clarification of either your problems or physical details.

Do you actually expect an electricin (or other volunteer) to reply immediately to a question about paint or wall covering?

You should be thankful for the helpful and constructive responses to your first of two meaningless posts.

You certainly have a very short fuse, inability to communicate and lack of understanding of what you have or want want. People just want to help you if you will let them.

I consider myself sufficiently chastised and hope that I will be forgiven. Thank you for the assistance and in the future I will hold my 'tongue' until I know of what I speak.

Ok. It's like the military, we'll break you down before building you up. Let's move on.
