Won't ring my bell??

FedEx and UPS will seldom notify me of a delivery:mad: Over the last year, I have had app. 20 deliveries with only TWO notifications. No big problem as long as it's not raining. I thought they were supposed to give notification of a delivery. Any body else have this problem?

Nope, not required to
Only time will be if the shipper specifies signature required

The two times that I was notified, they rang bell and got back in truck. No signature:no:

My friend works for Fedex
They are on a GPS tracker
.....too long at one location & it times out
They also found that by ringing the bell people answer & talk to the driver
That slows down deliveries
So...no bell...no talking....more deliveries accomplished in the same time frame
Less drivers needed overall

Next-door neighbor had a computer coming UPS. He left a note on the door to bring it to my house and have me sign. I was sitting on my front porch, the UPS guy, read the note and dropped the computer from about waist high on my neighbors porch and left.

My wife is forever ordering stuff,, I have no problem with them leaving it on the porch, or leaning against the garage door,, have had it placed in a plastic bag when raining. they left a note one time,, either I drive about 30 miles north or have them leave it on the porch steps, I chose steps. During the day no one is home and it just annoys the dog to hear the door bell.

Just remembered, when changing out the door bell ringer, its not working for some reason, new ringer looks nice though.

Fedex left a $18,000 check on somebodies doorstep when I refinanced my last house

I called late in the day as I was home waiting for the check
They said it was delivered.......No I'm home it wasn't
"Yes, blue house...left inside the front porch"
My house is white....I don't have a front porch
"...Oh"

Had to call the bank...What no signature required ???

i get stuff delivered all the time. My UPS driver sticks package on front step, then ALWAYS rings the bell as he's leaving

Scuba_Dave 07-30-2010 09:47 PM

I just remembered....we don't have a bell
I need to reconnect it

Thats all I want:thumbup: I guess it's just the drivers. Probably do no good to call:no:

I order basically everything online, and get a few packages a week, sometimes per day. I have been on vacation the past few weeks and many times I will step outside to get the mail and trip over boxes left there shoved between my screen door and front door, no knock or anything. I just got the screen door installed about 2 months ago, before then I found boxes in the bushes on a daily basis it seems. I have 2 bushes flanking my front door and they will hide stuff in both bushes! So I feel your pain.

I had DirecTV try to pull that with me, left no notice but claimed they came by (I sat the whole time waiting for them, never heard so much as a peep at the front door), but they were open to rescheduling...3 weeks later. Ugh.

DirecTV is in trouble here, They were running ads claiming they offered all the local channels, when they didn't have the local Fox or CBS.
