Woke up w/ no water
5:15AM: "Honey, we don't have any water"
My first thought " if it isn't in the pipe, then where the hell is it?" I ran to the basement....... Bone dry. Well that's good. Check the latest water bill ... not even due yet Check the news .. watermain is broken on the perpendicular street........ back to bed! It's still only 5:30 5:32: Jackhammering in front of my house starts.... 5:33: My daughter starts crying 5:33:12 My dog starts pawing at the side of my bed Guess I'm getting up now! Guess the problem spread? They were digging in 2 places on my street, fire hydrants open, backhoes, trucks etc. Big project all of a sudden. Thank god for the gym at work with showers  Sent the wife/kid/dog to the in-laws. My parents place is empty but there is no TV since they only live there sporadically so my wife didn't have any interest in that ha! |
Having the same problum today. Cap. in the bottomof the pump blew a hole in the pump when it went bad.
If I was you I would remove all the aerators on the faucets until the water clears up. |
Good idea Joe. I just heard the standard "run the water for 20 minutes after it comes back" disclaimer on the news too.
Mother in law wants us to spend the night because she thinks the water won't "be any good" for a while after it comes back:laughing: |
Be glad you have a utility to fix it. My well pump is 360' and it costs me $400.00 to get it pulled plus cost of new pump. I do miss city water.
