Window Tint

First off, let me start by saying DON'T DIY! I don't know what kind of masochistic thoughts were running thru my head when I tackled a sliding glass door with one whole continuous sheet of film. This was after a day of tinting 6 smaller windows and 2 days prior fighting with inconsistencies in the first 10 or 12 feet of film off the roll. Need less to say it looks halfway decent, except for the places where the film just didn't get the sticky stuff or something - I'm still working with the distributor on this issue; it was a close-out roll I got cheap. 5% VLT is DARK. Already notice lower temperatures inside. You cannot see in, and it's hard to see out at night. Nosy neighbors have left noseprints on the outside glass.

Yeah, yeah, more practice. Pictures to come...

I don't envy you, I wouldn't have the coordination to even attempt that.

Thanks!

It's not as hard as it seems. Then again, I thought it would be easier. Need about 8 hands that don't get in the way.

I've got one window where the tint has almost completely peeled itself off. The others are okay. And now I learn that tinting could void my window warranty and make them crack or shatter - Grrrreat! I guess it's time for curtains. The vinyl blinds the previous owner spent a fortune on warped and melted and look terrible.

A good career for a well coordinated octopus then!
