After 26 months in our new (old) house we are finally doing some painting. What an amazing difference with just the primer. Heck, what an amazing difference with just WASHING the walls (who knew they were white?).
I'll post some pics tomorrow. I'm giddy with the transformation.
If I could only remember to THINK about what I was doing before I did it.
Our front entryway walls continue into the hallway and living room walls, which continue into the dining room walls, which are connected to the kitchen walls. No doorways between them.
I can't figure out which colors to paint which walls and where the colors should be separated.
We moved here in the spring of '97. When we moved in, we painted everything off-white. That was after tearing down some of the ugliest wallpaper boarders and layers of ugly upon ugly wallpaper. Even the wooden kitchen cabinets had layers of wallpaper on the inserts. It was awful!
Everything being white was a huge improvement. Back then. After a couple years, it wasn't so great.
I've only had the nerve to paint one wall in the kitchen and the hallway. It doesn't look right to me. If I was rich, I'd hire someone to come over and tell me exactly what to do and they'd get even more money to convince me that I'd like it. lol
I just tell myself, "it's only been 12.5 years. Why rush it?".
