Who's having fourth of july parties?

Just seeing who is having get togethers for the fourth and if anyone is doing anything creative.

Since the deck is done, i'll be having a get together tomorrow night. Water stuff for the kids. Cornhole, bocci ball, grilling and adult beverages... oh and maybe some jello shots and fireworks!

We aren't having a party since next weekend is our sons Bday
So just hanging out, cooking some burgers & dogs
I'll have to tell the neighbors to come over for a swim
Its going to be hot tomorrow

Yeah it's supposed to be about 95 here. Slipnslide, pool and sprinkler will defenately be out tomorrow. I'm tested out the party atmosphere and grill at my house tomorrow in hopes to prepare myself for our daughters birthday in early august. (it'll be a good test i think)!

Celebrating the 4th on Sunday - Just my wife and I. The kids are out on their boats (wherever they end up) for the weekend. My wife has to work Monday so that kills the long boating weekend.

The first good trial for my new grill (Weber Q300 - a 85# "portable"). Sure seems to heat up quickly considering the mass and cast iron grates. I needed a smaller grill for my deck and got tired of the cheap junk with not body the replace the non-existent parts on. the usual food fare of steaks, corn in the husk and baked potatoes all on the grill. I may also add a wild, fresh Copper River Salmon fillet that I have been waiting for months to come in.

In the past I have always taken the 4th of July week off
And that means I'm usually working on the house
This year I'm just plumbing the warm tub to the pool
After that just enjoying the 90+ day
They say Tues it may hit close to 100 in Boston

Had my get together on the 3rd of July. Had a dozen or so people over for BBQ and Bon fire and then we watched the neighbor light off about $600 worth of fireworks. "Illegals Too". Much cheaper that way. There was no adult beverages at this particular function so everyone left exactly the way they came. Safe!

Have a safe 4th everyone!

I imagine fireworks WOULD be better if you could remember them the next day!
Our neighbors a half mile up the road did us a real nice show last night for HOURS!!
They had some real nice ones and probably spent over a grand.
I hope they do even better tonight!
The price is right, and we don't even have to leave the house!

My son wants to see fireworks every year
Then when I start setting them, off he is done pretty quickly
I still have the same fireworks from what I bought several years ago
At this rate I have enough for at least 2 more years

gmhammes 07-09-2010 11:45 AM

Did the same thing. I had bought firework 9 years ago on my way back from visiting relatives. I went down there again this year and bought more on the way back. I needed to get rid of the old stuff so being the piro that i am, lit and stuck a fountain in the old fireworks back and ran!

Worked great but was a huge mess on the drivway.

I kinda had a party - I got married in Mystic, CT. It was HOT, but the fact that we were on the water made for a nice breeze.
