Same thing happened here. I was stuck on an escalator for 10 days. Why did you have to leave your house to take a shower?

I will expand to Joe's comment due the reason why Joe have to leave the house to go other house due if I am reading this correct that he have water well system and when the power go out he have no water due there is no electric to run the water pump.

It did happend to me before few time before so I know how he feel with it after that I got wise is installed a stand by diesel generatour and that do make the differnce on that.

I lost electrical power once while I was hosing down a fire under the incoming electrical service. Here's how it works:

1. Guy wire breaks.
2. Line sags.
3. Line breaks.
4. Water from hose sags.
5. Water from hose stops.

We've got about 3 feet or so of global warming on the ground. I sure hope nothing collapses.

Quebec still under massive power outages. About 30k customers affected. Better than the 100k+ a few days ago.

This makes me realize the importance of being prepared for such massive outages. Imagine having no heat for 2 days.

One project I need to do some day is setup an inlet on my house and a transfer switch, and buy a generator.

Our storm is over thankfully, at my end at least. It's been around -10ish so not too cold, but definitely need a coat and gloves are a good idea! My skin starts to get really dry and cracks if I don't wear em.
