What keeps you going?

I've run out of steam on my bathroom project - I can't get myself back in there and going like I was for a while. I've been forcing myself to work on it and that's not working very well.

How do you all keep yourself into your projects - or get your interest back when it leaves?

Look at pics of what I started with
Or invite friends over who haven't seen the house in a year or two/3

you just realize that sometimes it's time to take a break. If it has been arduous, sometimes ya get burned out and need a little time to refresh.

Just make sure you don't start another major project while on break or turn the break into retirement.

having a wife that won't stop harping at you until the project is finished is often good motivation as well.

Then, when you start looking at next projects, concrete projects seem to be really attractive, if you get my drift:whistling2:

More so an inside project.. but I don't like when everything is disrupted when working on something, now if you don't have to use that bath on a regular basis, its hard to get back in there, especially if the prodject was bigger then you planned on. Better to take a break then have your work go for naught. Watch some of the fix-up shows on tv, or look through some magazines, it will remind you of what you want it to look at.. good luck

Thats the perfect key for DIYs. When I started out there was no internet, no forums to discuss issues with and no inter-trade people to talk to.

You have knowledge at your hands in this forum and you should use it.

Any job, whether pro or am has the potential of problems. Nothing to be afraid of. Just ask away and you will get answers. Onward and upward as me mum said.
