what does this mean ?

taken from another post :

I have KitchenCraft frameless island with 24" and 12" cabinets back to back, with a 3.5 inch pony wall between them. The 24" cabinets will include an 18" trash cabinet, 36 sink base cabinet, 30 inch dishwasher cabinet, and 24" drawer cabinet. Therefore the dimension will be 39.5 x 102. I am putting a 10-12" overhang on the 12" side.

see the "24&quot" and "12&qout". i have seen this before. and it is always from new members. seems like some kind of code. and has nothing to do with the topic. the topic is just the conduit.

This Thread does drift off the subject a bit but I'm sure it will answer your question

""" is a code for a double quote, not sure why the ; is missing and why there are numbers before, but it seems to me it's a spam bot that is kinda going screwy. Maybe on certain forums it does something else. Most forums will take any text literally so not sure why they're trying to call html code instead of just making a quote directly.

If you see junk like that it's probably a very good indication it's a spammer.

It's something that happens when they type this " . The quote symbol that they are using to denote inches. Might be the browser version that they are running

When Contractor talk changed formats and copied my profile info--the &quote thing showed up and made a mess if my original profile----
