Website Censorship

This is not political as it is a bipartisan bill.
I did run this past a mod before posting.
This could restrict content on some forums.

This is the house version, the senate version is called Pipa.

According to some forum owners, they probably will have to stop all "copy and paste".

"RB"
Thanks for bringing this up.
At this moment, all I can say is "OMG", "WTF", "Huh"?
"What fools these mortals be!"
"And, as we wind, on down the road ....."

Thankfully it looks like it won't pass. Obama has said he won't sign it, and there aren't enough votes to override.

It could be worse....the government could track every phone call, email, and website you visit. Oh yeah, wait, that's the Patriot act and they already do that...

I'm sure there will be other attempts. They originally tried to give the FCC the power to do this.

Obama has said a lot of things.

Have you heard? Obama (our mama) is running for President. He isn't likely to do anything else that is controversial for the rest of his term.

He hasn't said it EXACTLY, but what he has said is he is committed to Net Neutrality, of which SOPA doesn't fit into at all. Of course, him being a politician.....more likely, this issue is getting uglier and uglier by the day, rather than a veto, Obama would probably send word to Reid in the Senate to not bring it up for a vote at all.

As one person pointed out on another forum, under SOPA if you illegally share a Michael Jackson song, you could go to jail for 5 years. The doctor accused in his death is getting 4 years....
