I agree but they have tied up the air for an hour plus and still waiting for Mr. O. While I respect the situation, having to listen to the news broadcasters speculate about the what, how, why, and anything else they can think of the prevent dead air time is a bit much.

He's on.

I would love to be going all GaaGaa about this, but...

1. That was a very strange speech President Obama gave. I don't know whether it's because he was nervous, or not rehearsed, or what. A very strange cadence. Also, he sure did take a lot of credit for the deal. The way he kept going on about it, I began to wonder if he was going to say that he went over to Pakistan and shot bin Laden himself.

2. They've already disposed of bin Laden's body, at sea? I wasn't expecting some long, drawn-out spectacle or anything, but this is kind of weird. Kind of suspicious.

I suppose it would be to much to ask if there's a photo of the blood spraying out the other side.......

I would have rather seen him captured. Instant death is no punishment.

His religious beliefs say he must be buried within twenty-four hours of his death. That right there is reason enough to prop him up on a pole somewhere for about six weeks and let him rot in the sun.

That's what I was thinking!

President Obama was very careful to point out Bin Laden not only was not a Muslim, but was a "murderer of Muslims." But then they opt for a quick burial, as per Muslim tradition?

that is typical for his speeches.

well? What he did does a couple things; 1. it was under his specific direction that UBL was finally killed so he does have a right to claim that as a legacy of his presidency. 2. in a way, it allows him to become the target of retaliatory actions rather than the American people at large. He, obviously, has a much greater curtain of protection than the average person so putting the target on his back would make sense.

in the Muslim world, a body is to be buried within 24 hours. Refusing to do that could cause the Muslim world, the non-fringe groups, to be angered due to the disrespect shown the body. Additionally, it was stated that having a non-specific burial place will prevent his burial site from becoming a shrine.

To me they should of did something more with the body, like taxidermise his head and mount it in the oval office.

Good points. You've obviously been reading some of the same stuff I have, regarding the burial at sea. Also, a good point about Obama taking enough credit so that he - rather than the American people at large - might become a more likely target.

Even so, I do hope they provide at least some pictures of the body. There will be absolutely no way to quell the conspiracy theories if they don't do so. It'd also be a good way to bring a sense of closure for the rest of us.

while pictures will likely be released, eventually, there will always be the tinfoil hat groups that would argue that even if the body was placed in front of them that is is a body double or some other BS just so they could continue their beliefs. You just cannot prove the truth to some people because they just don't want to accept it.
