Hi: I need good solid information from some of you contractors that know what you are talking about with regard to trucks. Dually vs. single wheel?
I want to buy a pick-up that has power and stability and will not whine & cry when i go up of down a hill when pulling a horse trailer, long distance from east coast to texas pulling about 14-16,000 pounds. Considering a Dodge Ram 3500 diesel dually, 6.4 bed, mega cab. I know this truck has that capability but please give me some insight as to the pros & cons of the dually. Not talking about just getting by with local hauling.
Dully turbo deisel w/3:73 or lower(higher numerically) gears. You need the dully for the tongue weight. Gas engine to haul that would kill you in fuel, deisels are meant to tow big loads. Less maintenance with deisel(if you keep fuel filters changed), last longer.
