Trucks..
tool? Friend or foe? I love my truck but I'll be damned if some white collar panzy azz gets to say anything concerning trucks outside of what he knows anything of the trucks original intent, that being work.
My truck I rely on.

Trucks original intent is what the owner buys it for. You sound a little tense. Tell us the whole story and maybe you will feel better.

Trucks..
My truck can take us out into the woods in the morning to go shooting, come back and take a load to the dump, haul a bunch of brush and yard crap to the pile out back, get cleaned up and take my wife to dinner, then come home and park next to the bonfire so we can sit on the tailgate. One need not be ashamed to use their truck for more than just work.
Now, if you buy a truck and only haul air, and are afraid to get it dirty, then we have to talk.

Definate Tool. Definate Friend. I drive a truck daily and use it as a truck weekly with plenty of scratches as proof of use.
I respect everyone's rights to use any vehicle of their choosing for any use of their choosing but I give fair warning that the jacked up, beefed up, dual stacked with a rubber sack on the hitch, never a spec of dirt will hit it's bed kinda trucks I literally laugh out loud (literally) with every sighting... in fairness the slammed rice bommers with stuck on fake hood scoops, oversize wings, plastic spinners, and fart can mufflers get equal laughing treatment...

My truck is a tool for working. It has crank windows, manual locks and never had AC. It hauls scrap metal, lumber and trash. Its a stick shift too.
Couldnt drive it for 3 months after I broke my leg.

Fix'n it, that S-10 is the bomb. I actually wish I could have a Lightning or 02-03 Harley Davidson F-150, but you can't have a 2wd truck where I live (snow on the ground 5 months out of the year, crappy roads the other 7 months), and those don't really count. I actually saw a Dodge SRT/10 with a bail of hay in the back once (under the spoiler!), and I thought that was pretty cool.
Hot rods should be given a pass, since you can make a hotrod out of pretty much anything (American made). The lifted 4x4s with stacks and M/Ts that never see a gravel road, though, that's where I draw the line. |

Do vans count? I recently had a cubic yard of dirt in it, use it for hauling trash, and the wife has been driven to a restaurant more then once in it.
This to me is a tool and a van more suits my needs then a truck. Thought I post these pics as a example of a true throw and go ![]() Is not normal for my van, But one day had to laugh and take a pic.

Hot rod? Seriously? Come on now, that's a go kart at the kid's playhouse. Nothing personal but that's not a truck let alone a hot rod, not in my book.
