Ticket help

I got a ticket for going into a painted island and making a u-turn. It was dark and an unfamiliar road to me. There was a left hand turn lane approximately 50 ft from where I made the u-turn and I assumed that the center lane continued on as a legal area to pull into to make a turn. There are no signs posted anywhere stating no turns allowed but, upon review in the daylight I saw that the lane turns into a painted island with double yellow lines on each side. Do I have a chance at getting this ticket dismissed?

Ticket help

In Houston I have gone to my first court appearance for traffic tickets and pleaded "Not Guilty". What they then do is reschedule for another court date where the citing or issuing officer has to show with original paperwork.

Every single time, approximately half of a dozen times, for myself the officer has not showed up, case dismissed.

My old roommate's teenage daughter got a ticket for setting off fireworks within city limits last New Years, on our driveway. She did the same thing, went and plead "Not Guilty", reassigned and the cop was a no show, case dismissed.
