Telmarketers cell phone calls!!

I knew it would happen--I got THREE SCAM creit card calls to my cell phone today

I have had it registered with the DNC ever since I have owned it and registration is up to date.
I get these type call nearly every day on my land line but today is the first time on the cell

I called my phone provider with a complaint and they said there was nothing they could do

I got the same answer with my land line provider

Just a shame that they say there is no way to stop these calls, but it is apparent that these SCAMMERS are paying for a 800 service, and of course that's a profit for the phone companies

There is, or at least there used to be, a DNC # to call to register cell phones. I called it a couple years ago and registered my cell number and my mom's.

yeah i know this is not possible to stop these calls but we should do something .

What sort of scam? As in they hit you with a scam sales pitch, or you get charged for the call when you pick up?

Either way, in many cases those running phone scams are operating from overseas, so aren't affected by any rules or regulations surrounding cold calling. Or at least that's the case in the UK...

Some of them even have a system where they can make a local number come up on your caller ID. And the person whose number they are using aren't even aware of it.
