Summertime Drinkin

What is your favorite summertime drink?

During my weekend of painting my mother's house I had the misfortune of tipping over her liquor cabinet not once but twice (didn't break anything the first time, so I tried a second time). In order to help my parents with their overabundance of liquor I liberated two of the unbroken bottles of gin. So, for now, I'm on G&Ts with lime. Seems summery.

Any other thoughts?

Gin and Tonic with a bunch of lime is good (if the gin is decent). Mojitos are real nice for a hot day too, unless they're made from some green mix.

Arnie Palmer or green gatorade. Before I quit drinkin', it was Patron neat. Oh, and lots of good beer that didn't need fruit to keep the flies out or ruin the taste.

Good beer has never let me down, however, I got a "Margaritaville" machine for Christmas a few years ago, and it sees a lot of action on weekends when we open our pool.

This past Christmas I got a Jagermeister tap machine, but I think I'll leave that in the house - swimming & shots of Jager seems like a recipe for disaster to me!!!

I have been making homemade sangria for a few years now and it has become very popular. It makes about 4 gallons but you can do the math to make less if you want. I make it in a 5 gallon iglo cooler.

1 gallon carlo rossi piasano wine (any cheap red winr is fine)
1 gallon sunny delight
2 1&3/4 liter bottel fo tropicana twister. It's a fruit juice and use the flavors you enjoy.
1 liter E&J brandy
1 liter Mowhawk tripel sac
1 liter Bacardi rum
juice from 2 jars marachino cherrys

Not sure if I spelled everything right but I think you get the jist. Tastes best after a couple days in the fridge. will keep over a month if kept cold.

JoeyUK, that may be a great drink, but it is not sangria, any more than a Long Island iced tea is iced tea.

Sangria is fresh red wine, with oranges, lemons, and a few limes sliced into it, served over (preferably) crushed ice.

I prefer not to drink when it is too hot, but if so, a Cuba Libre' is my favorite.

I can't drink the heavy, wheat, or dark beers in the summer.... Natural Light it is! If that gets boring we'll throw in some Beam & Coke here and there. Beam + Sun = hangover a lot of times though!

Bourbon and Mountain Dew for me. Odd mix, but it has done the trick for years! Everyone makes faces at it, but like it when they try it.
