Nice new look Babs…but I’m thinking it may be time for you to take a little break from working on your Moms house.

I have 26 tattoos stemming from over 20 years of collecting them. Every single tattoo artist I know from Houston to Los Angeles has always recommended either Neosporin or what I actually have, A and D. It's recommended in writing, actually, on the "How to care for your new tattoo" paperwork they give you.

What is not recommended to use is Vasoline as it dries the tats out.

And now I get to get another tattoo to cover up that scar. Ideas?

Haha, I did stop working on my mom's house. Several weeks ago. Threw in the dang towel. Now I have moved onto my own. Feel free to help me with my two roofs problem.

I only have a mere seven tattoos, so obviously I have much less experience.
However one of the things I hear over and over is plain ol' lotion. Sometimes A&D but never Neosporin.

As for a new tattoo to cover it up... Hm... a motorcycle maybe??

When I used to cycle religiously a few years back I thought about a bicycle chain ring. Whenever you pop off a chain while riding hard and the big ring leaves a grease imprint of the ring on the inner leg, something like that.

But there are a lot of those tats out there.

You are supposed to use the smallest drop of uscented fast absorbing lotion.

Just buy the H20cean

WHAT IS NEOSPORIN?

Neosporin is a first-aid ointment available without a prescription that contains three antibiotic ingredients in a petroleum jelly base.
First aid ointment can be used to treat minor skin injuries. If you have deep cuts, puncture wounds, animal bites, serious burns, or injuries affecting large areas of skin, call your doctor or get emergency medical help. Neosporin may be recommended for home care after minor surgery but this is becoming less common.
Brand Names include: Medi-Quik, Mycitracin, Neosporin, and Triple Antibiotic.
Generic Names are: bacitracin, neomycin, and polymyxin B (topical).
The active ingredients in Neosporin are three antibiotics that fight different types of infection: neomycin, polysporin, and bacitracin.

The two artists that told me NO to Neosporin basically said: If you are keeping it clean then there is no use for it. You aren't trying to "heal" it or "prevent a scar" it just needs to not dry out. Basic unscented Lubriderm is all you need.

OK OK If you promise to stop posting pictures of it, I will finally agree to showing you a picture of me. Oh and you will be so excited to hear that I've booked a flight to Texas for tomorrow, so I will be able to come over after all.

This is really me. I just went to the hair salon

From this Halloween (and every single other day of the week that you are in Texas) you are to dress as Daisy Duke. Thanks for your cooperation.

My brother has a scar identical to that one, he got it the same way. He was a kid, though, and only a passenger.
