Stupid motorcycle..

Can't sleep right, wake up picking my comforter from my skin, this thing oozes all over the place, gets stuck to my jeans, I can't bend down right, certainly can't go for a run, just all types of messed me up. No more motorcycles for me!

Wearing shorts of course, I just parked my friend's bike and as I was getting off my leg touched the exhaust pipe.

I haven't done that in over 20 years, I certainly don't remember it hurting so bad.

i've also found keeping it moist ( neosporin (sp?) helps for me when i have similar injuries.

allows the wound to stretch some.

Nurse, since I'm currently on the injured list and the only way I can take a shower is while keeping my leg outside the tub, it'd be so, so much less painful if you'd simply give me a sponge bath.

Yup, I have some somewhere from when I got my last tattoo a few months ago. Need to find it!

I gave your landlady an urgent call...she's on her way.

I'm so glad to have helped

I'd rather just cut my leg off.

Come on, that's tiny................

Actually, my brother got burned pretty severly when one of his race engines blew up on the dyno this last January. He spent about 5 weeks in the burn unit, with second & third degree burns to his face, hands, and arms. It really was no joking matter, but he did harness back into his race car by Easter weekend........

I have been burned---there are large gauze burn bandages available at any Pharmacy---saturated with oil or something---they seldom stick and keep the wound soft,

Also --soaking that every day is a good thing---so no need for the sponge bath.

I worked for a while as an EMS helicopter pilot and without question, the worst cases we saw were motorcyle accidents. At least yours was the kind that happens once you get off of the road and doesn't require my taxi services. My girlfriend (now my wife of 32 years) did the same thing you did when she got off of my motorcycle way back when (when wearing short trousers wasn't that unusual on bikes). She still has the scar to this day.

Just remember, you can be the best and safest motorcycle rider on the road, but there's always some idiot in a car that can make your experience and knowledge worthless.

Immediately putting ice on a burn for as long as you can stand really helps take the sting out. More importantly it stops the damage to skin tissue.

Unlike a cut or a scrape, a burn continues to cause damage to the sub layers of skin even after the source of burn has been removed. Ice or very cold water is crucial. Even in a severe case. Try to put the victim under the running bathtub faucet if you can't fit the damaged area in a bowl of ice

It hurts now as it's healing. It's not due to clothing or bed covers but as I walk.
