Story time---1952 Dodge school bus

Ok left from Nashville Tenn. it was not bad at all and was driving on interstate 24 and got a chance to strech my truck legs to wide open throttle which it will hit at 75 MPH ( At 2200 RPM ) it was pretty quiet for while until I got intertagled with motour cycle convoy they like my sound of the Detorit engine running full throttle.

As we are going along with them and there were few events I can't say what the female driver / riders did to us but I am pretty sure you will figured it out by now.

got thru Chanagota ( SP ) and stop for short break to enjoy the view near rocky mountin area then head on south have to plan to stop at Ringgold to get more diesel fuel for my truck that was rock bottom price 84 cent a gallon dammed I wish we keep that price. ( that time the automotive gaz was running about 1.35 or so a gallon )

Got few nice fresh peaches yummy.,

Then head south on Interstate 75 but have to watch the speed little more closer due the law enforcements are not too fexiable with speed limit.

By time I get to Metro Alanta I supposed to take I-275 but miss the turn for some reason ( partally due rush hour merde ! ) but just keep going on I-75 thru the Metro and have a little fun with jake brake to wake up some of the peoples and listen to the CB radio and decided to hit the SCNF horn in the tunnel under the building wowie you should hear the echo with sharp whistle sound.

Few cops were kinda ticked off and try to find who did it but can't find it and heard on the CB radio saying there is a European horn went off and someone did say it was the dammed SCNF high speed train horn

So I decided not to hit the horn again for a while but keep crusing along the way. and drive all the way to southen Georiga to take a break and get into Floride ( Florida for ya guys )

I will stop right there I will fill in more in little bit.

Merci,
Marc

If you came through Chattanooga and stopped at Lookout Mountain you were within a mile of our house. Atlanta in rush hour traffic is an experience, about the same as Nashville now days.

Cool .,

Sorry for delay so kinda bring it up to the date to the story line as I am in state of Floridie it was pretty warm and stop at Gainsville to fix my truck have a minor breakdown a turbocharger hose blew out and got a new hose and double clamp it so it will not happend again ( it did squeal like angry carney bird when I hit the throttle pretty hard and sound like mini jet engine and of course black smoke trail when it was overfueled I catch that one pretty fast due my EGT was pretty high )

Went to Leesburg to stop and see my family members for short while then go to Orando to see Dinsey World and Sea World it was pretty nice but that time the cost was not too bad but today price some of ya will say oh crap.,,

Then go to Daytona Beach for R&R it was nice that day then go to Tampa on I-4 it was not too bad but been zigzaging in state of Floride for two weeks then time to go back to Quebec and use the second fuel tank to fill it to brim and run 20 hours nonstop at full throttle on the way back ( 100 gallons of #3 diesel fuel is rock bottom price ) btw they don't make #3 anymore thanks to EPA.,,

Will fill more story later.

Merci,
Marc

Story time---1952 Dodge school bus

I am back here to start the other story on my travel experince however this time over the "pond" so it will be little eyetwister a bit but kinda instering.,,

Anyway.,

I was driving from France to UK so I have to get on the ferry boat ( they ran for limited time due the new tunnel is allready up and running ) and make the way up on the UK main road but the driving skill somehow that will get some of you on " upside down mode or backward " due the UK do drive on the left and majorty of the UK cars and lorries ( trucks ) are right hand steering but not mine truck ( Renault servicemaster ) it still on the left but I have few nice advange over the cars due I can see over the roof but to pass them is little tricky.

The roads were not too bad but have to watch the speed limit espcally if I driving small lorry so I am right middle between the car speed limit and large lorry limit. the cars useally zip about 120 KMH but large lorries are limited to 80 on most of the roads but some are allowed to increase to 100 KMH.

So I stay about 100-110 KMH zone so I am ok with that ( the fines are pretty steep about 300+ Euros got in London at pretty good clip of speed but the traffic is pretty hevey but simair to Parisian traffic but a$$backward.

For the food it was good and stop at few local pubs and asked them for their famous fish et chips.

Let me say in short answer .,, Ya should be there to eat it. It will sweep your feet off how they make it. ( allready stuffed from good ones )

Then travel to centre London near the big ben and of course the clock tower bell still work with nice notes.

Then get on Thames river on their litte river boat it was nice and did catch plenty tea for it ( that they do that all the time )

Their tea time useally at 16:00 ( 4 PM ) but give or take few minuites / hours

I will contuine more in a bit.

Merci,
Marc

Allright let contiune this story for a bit.,

Yeah., London is nice area to visit and been taking a tour around with few good landmarks events and of course few history I learn along the way.

I did manged to stay in few local motel and they are not bad at all and they do have nice brew as well it little stronger than Americian beer but they will serve it at room tempture so it kinda kick ya pretty good but you can ask for cold tapper and it will send you in differnt zone.

The food and wine and beers are good and I did not get any bad part at all.

For ya guys back over state side just be aware with driving skill in European area the majorty of the back roads are narrower than what you are used to see in North Americiane side. so that will keep you on the toe and the roads are actually follow the old roman time pathways so that is one reason why they winding alot.

So when plan to go back to France to go home and it was not bad at all so I took EUROCHUNNEL it was nice but pretty fast about a hour the most without issue but make sure your passport is ready. Oh by the way becarefull with booze they will nail ya hard.

Merci,
Marc

I will contuine on next part in little bit in other countrys.

Story time---1952 Dodge school bus

I am waking this story up again .,,

This time went to Berlin on Autobann ( German Hiway ) with my Renault truck and it was pretty nice most case but one very good tempting is hammer the pedel to the firewall the only time you can do that when you see the sign say no speed limit useally quickest way is look for green round crossed sign once you see that.

Be ready for anything goes I have quite few cars ( high performace sport cars ) went by me like nothing at all as soon I see them on my rear view mirrors next thing I am looking at their taillights they are flying at 250+ KMH ( kilometer per hour ) which it will be over 155 MPH in case you reading this but at least twice I know 300 KMH ( 186 MPH )

But most case not too bad but be aware that all but once I get in the city of Berlin it was pretty nice I stay at one of my classmate's house for couple nites and take a tour of the Berlin area and it was pretty instering history and show one spot where former Berlin wall was there and they have a plage sign but I did not get a chance to read it.

The food is very good and beer oh man .,,, ZUT!! it was good beer. they have in large " Keg " which I am pretty sure they hold about a liter worth of beer in there. The Bratwerst ( SP ) is good and the price of food is not too bad at all but while I am there it was in quite season but should done go in Octoberfest then it will be heckva a good party to do. ( I am sure Dorf Dude will know what I am talking about )

Then go back to home but a nice detour is go to Lumexburg Bussel it was nice but instering interwine culture of German , Dutch , French plus few other and pretty nice area but most streets and signs are useally marked in French so it was easy for me to get around but I only stay there for couple days then head back home to Paris.

Merci,
Marc

Better be careful. I think bumping is against the rules here. A mean moderator might slap your hands for bumping.

Well.. I see that the "perpetrator" of this thread is here.
(Not bad "--M--" - 9700+ views!)

What's this talk about "bumping"?!?
The only "bumping" I've been dealing with, involves "potholes"!
(Chicago - "Pothole Capital of the US"!)
Jeesh!!!!

What I've been waiting for is -
A continuation of the story!!!
(What's the matter Mike -
"Writers block" - "Cat got your mouse"......?)

Well?!?
Huh?!?
What????
