Space Shuttle video I shot this week
On Tuesday morning, my daughter and I got a real treat with a double fly by.
Space Shuttle Discovery was heading to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. on its final voyage, when I captued this footage. After logging over 148 million miles in space,. As a last chance for those of us on the Space Coast who watched it lift off from our homes from the 1980's till the fleet of shuttles were just recently retired. She made her final goodbye passes shortly after sunrise over Patrick Airforce base, Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach before heading to Washington, DC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8pi-_OYimk |
Pretty cool. Too bad Houston didn't get it but we have NASA to make up for it.

Cool video Mud Man...The Shuttle on the back of a 747 has always impressed me more than any of the launch pad or space shots.
Some day your little girl will realize she witnessed History... and with Dad to boot. |
Great stuff, thanks for posting!

Nice video! Ever since the first time I saw Moonraker I have thought it was amazing that the 747 can actually frigging take off with that thing on its back!!!!!!!
The extra tail looks awesome, makes the 747 look like an Antonov. |
Now that is what I call cool. Wish I could of been there to see it myself!
