snowblowers are good
surprise drop-bys from friends with plows are much better. Especially after the street plow goes by. Left me with only the rink to do.
But its still snowing ! |

If we had that much snow here, we would just stay in bed for a week.
Lots of baby's born here after major snow and ice storms.

snowblowers are good
Reminds me of what I had to deal with a few weeks ago. Glad I was off that day since it would have sucked scrambling to get the car ready for work while trying not to be late!
That box in front of the car? A 1000lb skid of dricore. Had already hauled one in the house the night before along with 170 2x4's while the storm started to hit. Was too tired to finish so left the last one there, woke up to close to 2 feet of snow. Had to shovel my way to it. Fun fun. Got lucky and a guy showed up with a plow, offered to do the driveway for 30 bucks. Hell yeah! Did not feel like shoveling that much snow after hauling so much stuff in the house. My arms and legs were dead. I need to invest in a snow blower some day. |

Can you imagine having to shovel 2 feet of packing snow..and just as you finish the street snow plow goes by, effectively blocking you in again.
![]() I am surprised you don't already own one living where you do. I'm only an hour from the US border. We haven't seen alot of snow these past couple of years, but I'm sure glad I have it when I need it. You can probably get a really good deal at the end of the season. I shopped around and I'm really pleased with the Toro. HD puts them on sale online as well. Toro has no shear pins to get snapped off at the most inconvenient times. Also the power steering is nice on the back. This beast hurls the heaviest of snow clear over to your neighbours Just don't point the shute that way

Getting stuck behind a convoy of these guys is not even a valid excuse as to why you are late for work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQj3DM1T7L4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOmT97xy1yA |

snowblowers are good
Back in the late 70's -
Had to side a house - (Wheaton, Il.) - by myself - no help. Had to shovel 4+ feet, deep of snow (away from the bottom of the house) so I could get at a point where I could start the siding - 2 to 3 feet away from the side of the house. A lot of fun trying to set up 24 ft. pump-jack, poles! |

I got lucky with the New England Blizzard, got only about 14"-18" of wet packed snow. Took most of the day with the snow blower and shovels to dig out. And I agree Creeper, nothing like getting the sidewalk and driveway dug out and then the plow pushes it back in. I think I said a few ugly words .......
Was nice last night though, we had a driving ban so you could run your blower out into the street to dig out the driveway and not worry about getting hit!

I'm a 6th generation native Floridian and moved to Massachusetts 16 years ago for the weather. I actually love the snow and have learned how to deal with the cold. I deal with the cold a lot better than the heat and humidity.

if you're talking about Florida Creeper don't forget the gators, mosquitoes, roaches and bugs of all kinds, tourists, snow birds, running your a/c on Christmas Day, never having your windows open ....... I get to see it when I visit my family, other than that I'm happy with the snow
