small bathroom remodel, how much?
I've been getting estimates to replace a one piece baththub/shower unit and toilet for my 77 yr old father with a low threshold shower with glass door, seat and a grab bar. Also, to replace the toilet with a 'comfort height' model. The house was built in 2001 with basic materials on a concrete slab. We want to keep cost low. My current estimates range from $3800 for a fake marble solution, and $6000 for basic tile, and $11,700 basic tile. Also, a $1200 estimate for just the laber for a non tile solution from handiman connection where we provide the materials. The current bathtub/shower is 60" x 30".
How much should this job cost if done properly with basic materials? How many days and hours should this take?
Also, looking for suggestions on what materials to use, tile, or something else. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!
