Should I change my avatar?

It seems Dell is a bit put off by my supercool avatar. It occurred to me that perhaps he is not the only one, and I am not the kind of guy who likes to knowingly aggravate others, so I thought I'd put it to a vote. Honestly, I really don't want to make it harder to read the page, so I'll make a poll for a coupla days. At the end of the poll, if people want me to change my avatar to something less animated, then I shall happily comply.

No stuffing the ballot box, Teetor! One vote per do-it-yourselfer!! It's a public poll, and everyone can see your reponse.

Should I change my avatar?

It makes me a little dizzy, of course that could be the beer doing that.. but I like the action, it kind of breaks up the monotony.

Its not your avatar that is causing a problem.

We want this forum to be a helpful resource for people to learn more about DIY Home Improvement. Of course we want everyone to have fun while there here but there comes a point when you need to stay on topic.
It seems like 9 out of 10 of your posts contain nothing but a crewed joke or some meaningless content. All we ask is that you only post when you have something to say on the subject. (maybe a joke every 1 in 10?)
When you joke with people it tends to start fights and causes new visitors to the site to write it off and go somewhere else because all they see is a bunch of meaningless posts instead of helpful DIY Tips.

Last, maybe you've never been to ContractorTalk.com (as you claim)... but I will just say that your name, attitude, and comments seem to mimic a member that we had to kick off of that site a while back. Maybe its just a crazy misunderstanding but the second you signed up there was a red flag thrown up.

Lets start over LongJohn. How about we post meaningful content on this site and leave the jokes to the "off topic" section (if clean).

Not trying to be funny here at all.... Is there a way to get spell check in the posting process. I just noticed "crewed" and it hit me. Really, there are a lot of times I turn to the old dictionary due to not being sure. Is there a way to hit like spell check before we post, like in an e-mail. I know I'd like it... just a wierd thing I have I guess. I think this modern age has us all forgetting things. Have you ever seen this one e-mail that went around for a while? It went something like " thank god for spell check! now i'ts sew much easier two get things done wright the first thyme." LOL

There is a hack out there that I can install. I'm just not sure how much work it is. I'll look into it.

When it comes to posting on these boards I don't watch myself enough. There is just a lot of posts to look at and respond to and I don't have the time to check everything.

Thanks for the comment though.

OK, I changed my avatar anyway. I thought maybe some of you would want to see what I looked like.
