A sad day...

For those who knew him, through the countless thousands of people he helped, to those who were taught by him; from 5 continents, from North America, via China, Australia, all over Europe, we had amonsgt us a big man: Maurizio Bertoli...

Sadly he was taken from us, in a freak accident on the road.

He taught all of us about stone; he knew more than all of us combined; his passion and knowledge are unsurpassed. He was a god amongst men.

This is a sad day for all of us who work in stone, who have lost someone who always had your backside covered. An encyclopedia, a master teacher, a real friend.

Those who benefited from his wit have received a gift. Goodbye, dear friend.

A sad day...

Such a shame. Much sorrow for his family, and all that knew him and benefited from his knowledge. He had the most unbelievable presence in the field of his work, and will, no doubt, be known for years, because of his past contributions, and future ones too (book).

For those of you who are wondering;
