Rewiring costs

I know there was an old thread about this, but I need an updated answer if possible.

I'm considering purchasing a 1920 stucco Spanish style house in SW Florida. It will be gutted so the electrician will have free access and a crawl space to work from if needed. No plaster/lathe to tear out or replace; all that will be done by others.

The house is 985 sq ft; plus a small 1 car detached garage that we'd also need to re-wire. A new entrance (electrical panel?) will be required.

I'm looking for a ball park figure only - will do my own due diligence if we go ahead with the offer (and get the property).

Thanks to anyone who might be able to respond!
Melissa

It's hard to say without specifics. A full service and a complete rough in on that size house, probably $12K or so.

But that depends on what you want installed. Also, Florida is a lot cheaper than NJ.
