Iím currently in collage right now taking a scope and quality standers class and Iím hoping that one of the roofing contractors who do new construction can help me out a little here with some homework questions. My questions have to do with procedures for this trade, what works well and what doesnít. What problems do you always encounter? What works well for you and what needs improvement? Basically what do you look for in quality standard procedures?
Could you maybe make those questions a little broader? Following the manufacturer's installation instructions works pretty well.
I don't "always" encounter any problems. If I encounter it once, I solve it and move on to the next problem.

I assume you're asking about asphalt shingles. Not much has changed in the last 20 years in asphalt shingling except cosmetics. Not a whole lot changed in the 20 years before that except the change from an organic felt base to a fiberglass base. Not sure how to help you any further.
