price per sq ft. for addition

choice of two, 1st 400 sq ft (first floor) 2nd 900 sq ft over garage. Both would be full additions, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, roof ect. I need an idea of what the price per sq ft would be. In Illinois

It is generally cheaper to build up than out since you don't need a new foundation for a second floor addition. But it would also depend on how much modification the original structure needs to support a second floor.

They is no way to give even a "ball park" estimate on something like this. Think of it this way,
Addition #1
10x10
100 sf of floor
40 lineal feet of walls
Addition #2
2x50
100 sf of floor
104 lineal feet of walls

Yes I know these are not real sizes but you get the idea.
Also finishes make a big difference
cedar or vinyl
hardwood or carpet
Glaicer Bay plumbing (home Depot) or Grohe

Sorry
i cannot be of more help than this.
