I have been pet free for the longest period of my life.

Unless you really sugar your kids up to raise the frantic nature of the Holiday? A pet might not be the best gift for Christmas. Ask any SPCA about post Holiday returns. It is one of the busiest times of the year for pounds, by any other name.

A gift pass to the local pound, after Christmas might work out. Great choices. Near free but for frees and proof you can actually deal with a pet.

Introducing a pet this time of year is just very stressful. Ask any vet.

In cultures I know, and not that they are not sugared up? New Years works out better. The only expectation of kids is red envelpes with chimp change. Gift wrap is out of the way. Toys you spent a fortune on are now forgotten. There is a bit of time for an animal?
