Painter's license

I'm looking to get licensed, and just wondering what steps I need to take to achieve this. I'm just starting to look into it, been painting for the same guy for about 12 years and now he's moving out of state, hence this is why I'm starting my own gig. Any tips you guys have for me would be much appreciated. TIA!

Painter's license

Nevermind. I checked out that first link from the google listing, and it looks like I have to get a builder's license. I thought there might be a separate license for painters.
