One-hit Wonder
I'm curious if the mods know how many one-post members there are here. They post, then run. Strange.

I agree, somewhat.
They probably go to every "Const"/"DIY" forum on the "Net" -
Since nobody tells them what they want to hear -
(No, Don't do that!)
They move on.
Sad - sometimes I like to hear how things turned out!

The "Mods", might have the ability to track it - who, really cares!?!

It's a joke. I have never seen as much of this crap on any other forum.
I did a search for a few of the absurd threads I have declared to be "thread of the year".
Concrete porch.
bath tubs
Microwave exterior light
It's not even a matter of the poster receiving his/her answer then not coming back. That would be understandable. In the three threads above, as well as many others that are created every day, the OP logs off within minutes of making the thread and never logs in again. This is shown when you click a user name, view their profile, and check their last activity. They don't even come back to see the replies they got.

I'm the mod over on craftforum.com and I see some of the same stuff. A lot of times the one-post-wonders will come back some time later and add a spam link to their signature.
Sometimes the threads they've started here turn out to be pretty good subjects.
I like your list of threads of the year.

That makes some sense, even though I don't understand it. Thanks!

I don't understand it either. A lot of the time they post links to businesses that have absolutely nothing to do with crafts. Sometimes the business isn't even in the U.S.
I wonder if they're paid for what they do.

I've always wondered about this. Maybe one of the Mods can answer. When you look at a public profile and it says "last activity", does that mean it's the last time they visited the site, or last time they made a post?

Ive wondered that too. If I'm going to take the time to start a thread, I'm coming back to see the results. I dont post a lot but I surf this forum every day just to see whats up. When I get done rebuilding my kitchen, I may have more time to post.
