Observation

Ever since I started to learn how to tile, within the last year, and now completed my tile job, I find myself looking at how well a tiling job was done. Like when I walk into the bathroom at Sheetz, or at the Holiday Inn today.
Have I lost my marbles?

Nope. Pretty commonplace for one craftsman to appreciate another Craftsmans work.

Nope, not at all.

A couple years back I helped a mason friend of mine do a stone fašade on a large building. This was real stone, not the fake stuff. All different sizes and shapes. Makes one really appreciate when a true craftsman has been on the job. All I did was haul rocks and mortar for the most part. I see stone work done now and just shake my head.

Retail establishments normally have cheap, low end, sloppy tile work. You could probably easily do better than anything you might see if you take a minute to have a look around while doing your business in a Dunkin Donuts rest room.

Perfectly normal. I always find myself looking at walls, ceilings, ducting, vents, tiles, flooring, etc. Anything I've ever done gets lots of my attention. I hate when I see something isn't level, square, plumb, etc. Drives me nuts.

LOL. I walk into a place, and first thing I do is look what kind of heating/cooling set up they have.

I'm staying at The Cosmopolitan this week and I got to tell you, this place is freaking nice. From the tiling to the pocket doors. I'm really digging the lighting as well. There's a single button that turns off all your lights regardless how you turned them on.
The shower is amazing as well.
