No St. Patrick's Day?

Is it true that a school in Mass. now calls March 17th "O'green Day" instead of St. Patrick's day?

Dunno Barb, but if its true then its too far. For crying out loud why can't we just learn to accept the differences in people and cultures.

Really? Why do people care what other people embrace. Believe what you like and move on with your life. It seems like people hate what is unknown to them for the sheer reason that it is not how they see it, or do it.

You want to put up a christmas tree, or worship a patrion saint, or wear a hijab, and yes even be in a same sex marriage, who the h*** cares

I say down with over imposed political correctness, its ridiculous

besides...I'm not racist..I hate everyone equally (another joke before anyone gets their knickers in a knot)

Sandals and beard day---pink heart day--Wait till the PC people want to change the Saint Lawrence sea way to Larry's ditch.

I live near St. Charles---I think Chuck will be a nice name---

St. Louis--Lou? The Brits will like that one.

I suppose April 1st will become "lack of judgement day". Although I would prefer "April Politicians's Day."

I live in St. Paul, MN that is an Irish/Italian/German/Scandinavian city that would probably execute anyone that wanted to change the name of a traditional holiday. I can remember grilling a few hundred hamburgers at the Catholic Charities home on St. Erho's Day (patron saint of Finland) and then doing a tousand or so the next day for the St. Patrick's Day parade.

Minneapolis is a different animal because of the ethnic background plus nature of the governor and local liberal politicians, but they would never change the name of one of the Scandinavian holidays and and Scandinavians from St. Paul would be behind them. They even try to have a bigger St. Patrick's Day celebration than St. Paul.

Most of the name changes are for short term "political correctness" and a few votes. - Is just a very important day once a year for many people.

Sometimes I think they change things even when nobody has complained. They're picking away at the traditions of this country - one by one.

It's been going on for many years, but here's a speech Mrs. Obama gave before becoming first lady. She explains how we have to change our history, our traditions, etc. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm proud of our history and traditions and don't really want to see them changed.

Its happening up here to Barb. At city hall we light the holiday tree.

When I was a kid in school every morning we recited the lords prayer, the national anthem and God save the Queen.

Now at christmas pagents the kids can't sing any carols outside of frosty or jingle bells. No baby jesus stuff

So singing songs about a fat guy with a beard and a red suit who creeps into your room at night is ok

My grandson is in 1st grade. They weren't allowed to have a Halloween party last October.

I was going to say that I can't imagine which group witches and goblins would offend, but I guess that would be pentecostals and baptists.

We should start a cause. Paying taxes and speed limits offends me
