Nope. I put them in a box out on the driveway. The mother came and picked them up, one by one, and took them somewhere. It was really interesting to watch.

I rented a farmhouse for a while, years ago. There were several barn cats that lived around there and there were almost always kittens around.

One family of the kittens hung around by our front door, right near where we parked our cars.

One day, we drove to Potato Joe's in Sparta to buy flowers to plant in the yard. After we paid for the flowers and got back to the car, one of the baby kittens was wandering around in the parking lot by the car. We couldn't believe it. He must have climbed up under the hood at home and stayed there all the way to town - we probably drove 55 mph most of the way.

When we got home, we tried to do a head count of the other kittens and ended up driving back toward town because one was missing. We found it about a mile away. If I remember right, it was alive.

At another house that I rented, many moons ago, there was an adult cat that lived in the neighborhood and walked through our yard every now and then.

One day, I heard a lot of noise outside and went out to see what was going on. That cat was walking through the yard - not doing anything wrong - and there were at least 8 to 10 Robins dive-bombing him. That's when I noticed a baby Robin on the ground, jumping around. The adult Robins must have been trying to protect it from the cat. It was pretty cool.

Gee, talk about a trip down memory lane! One more story...

In the same house I just mentioned, I was standing at the sink, washing dishes and I heard a horrible noise in the living room near the front door. I turned around to see what it was and saw the neighbors black cat sitting there with my daughter's Parakeet in it's mouth. One of the kids had left the door open and he came right in.

I screamed. The cat dropped the bird and ran out. The bird was still alive, but stunned. It was a real Tweety and Sylvester moment - .

Those are some ugly little creatures. No wonder the mother left.

O MY GOD does that bring back memories...Ramones at the El Macombo .... Saw Joe Jackson and Teenage head at that same venue. Probably more. Those were the late seventies, early eighties....

These days I'm lucky if I can stay awake along enough to get through a rented movie in my own living rm ..hahah ...What a bore, but at least I'm a responsible mom unlike bird number !

Doc I will have you know that when you were a newborn your face probably resembled a squished eskimo baby, who had gangly arms and legs and a lot of extra skin that took you weeks to fill.
But your momma loved you anyway

I was at one of Joey Ramone's last shows at Johny Depp's Viper Room in Los Angeles many years ago. D-Generation was his band for the night, playing all Ramones tunes.

And I was born beautiful.

The one baby bird looks like either Statler or Waldorf from the Muppet Show...... or is it just my imagination?
