Here's a pic of Mom or Dad. Sometimes they both sit there. The nest is right beside the area with bent soffit

And a pic with eggs. I will dig up this post when they hatch. They used this same nest last year a couple of times. I feel bad having an outside light on at night when its past their bedtime

Looks like a robin I assume ?

I completely missed the bird in the first picture and thought this would be a funny story about how your retired neighbors never leave that deck!

Sometimes neighbors just make themselves right at home, don't they!!
Nice pictures! Be cute to see the little ones.

I've no idea what happened to the other two eggs. There is no evidence of them on the ground below and for sure they didn't hatch and fly off. Its been really cold here. at least the remaining egg appears to be growing. Is that even possible?

Jay 78 04-29-2012 11:25 AM

Around here, blue jays like to steal robin eggs.

Total Tool 04-29-2012 10:42 PM

Crows will take them too.

mystery solved:(

Doc Holliday 05-01-2012 01:36 PM

Was that the last one?

creeper 05-01-2012 01:43 PM

No I just checked. There is still that last one safe and sound. The broken egg was found about 50 ft away. So maybe it was stolen and then dropped by another bird like some have suggested.
It is finally supposed to warm up here by Thursday. So maybe that will be the big day.

Except for that weird heat wave in March, it has felt like a steady 3-5 degrees since November. No winter, but no spring either. I`m so sick of being cold all the time.
