Need help bidding a job.

My hubby is bidding a painting job for a friend but is unfamiliar w/ the bidding process. The total wall space we came up with is 948.5 ft and the ceiling came to 385 ft. Wall is paint only with minimal prep but ceiling entails scraping off old "popcorn", spraying on new texture and painting. No furniture will need to be moved, homeowners are handling. Anyway, any hints would be appreciated. What would you bid??? Thanks in advance for helping.

Estimate how many days it will take him to do it - multiply that by the amount he wants to be paid per day - add to that the cost of paint and other supplies.

Enough to cover the cost of new carpet if he spills paint(I'm assuming he has no liability Insurance).....if you are doing this as a friend....you will soon see how much of a friend they are if something goes wrong

Or the hubby falls off the ladder and finds he has no accident coverage because it did not happen at his house. The good friend will have no coverage because the hubby is acting as a contractor and should have his own insurance.
