Mystery of the One-eared Cow

Can't answer the question but it reminds me of the story about the three legged pig.

Mystery of the One-eared Cow

Is the ear folded forward? It looks like it might be covering the bottom of the cows eye. I'm sure it's not, but it's my best answer.

p.s. are you going to give us the answer to this one, or do we have to figure it out like the other one?

Mystery of the One-eared Cow

The blindingly obvious question is:

Why does the "cow" also have one horn?

That is, we have a "cow" with one ear and one horn.

Is that to suggest that the Bag Balm is equally helpful to both men and women?

The other idea I had is the fact that cows that are fed red clover (which is the plant prominantly displayed on the emblem) produce more CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) in their milk, and CLA is proven to be an anticarcinogen. So, the cow head, with one ear and one horn, surrounded by red clover, suggests that Bag Balm is an anticarcinogen for both men and women. (?)

http://www.dfrc.ars.usda.gov/RS97_pdfs/FU11.pdf

Or, more generally, that Bag Balm is healthy for both men and women. (?)

It's just a SWAG (Scientific Wild Assed Guess), but it's my best SWAG.

And, repeating the concerns of the previous poster, do you know the answer to this riddle, or are you merely posing the question and hoping someone provides a credible answer?

actually there are 2 horns. The closest horn is clearer in this pic.

as to why 1 ear?

Dang, the cow is 109 years old and you expect all parts to be intact? I would like to see how you hold up after 109 years.

........
I'm not suggesting you don't know the answer to the other one, and I'm pretty sure you know the answer to this one, but can there be a time limit on this one? Say...6 months? I've put solving the other riddle ahead of some of my other projects here at home and I don't know if I can procrastinate much more without having to hire someone to help.

My guess is that the artist forgot to put the ear on the cow.

or

It was out in a winter storm, got frostbite on the left ear, it fell off.

or

The clover represents the feeling of walking barefoot through a field of clover..... looking for the ear that fell off your cow that won a first-place ribbon in last summer's 4-H fair and knowing that if you don't find that ear and some damn good adhesive, he won't win the blue ribbon again next time and mom and dad are going to put him in the freezer.

nap's 109-year-old theory works for me.

Mystery of the One-eared Cow

don't worry, this one is much easier than the riddle at the bottom, and i will answer soon if no-one sees what i see.
look at the larger pic i posted carefully. the answers should 'jump right out at you' if you just relax and see them.... if i have to, i'll touch it up to make the things easier to see and post them. but they're there all right.....but WHY???

Mystery of the One-eared Cow

I grew up in an urban environment.

Do cows have horns? I don't think so. I always understood that bulls have horns. Not cows.

Mystery of the One-eared Cow

A real cow has a much larger head and a longer face in comparison to this cows neck and horns. Does the disproportionate size of the head have anything to do with it?

Would it help to look at the picture up-side-down or side-ways to see the answer?
