moving a house for the first time

I live in Virginia and am hoping to find an old home to purchase inexpensively to move to my property. I have found a few 'historic' properties, that all come with covenants that basically allow me to improve and financially support the home, but if I don't do it exactly the way they want, they can buy the structure back, at the pre-improvements price!
I kid you not, some of these homes come with 18 page covenants that even cover what types of landscaping I can put on my property!
Any advice on finding a regular house to move? I have spent the last six years learning all the DIY skills I need to install everything form the tiles in the bathroom to the sink in the kitchen, I just need to find a house.
Any suggestions?

Why not buy a prefab modular home?

Just Google "prefabricated modular homes" and you'll get 1,830,000 web sites that contain that character string. Preumably, some of them are companies that sell prefabricated modular homes.

I am looking to preserve my finances, our planets resources, and perhaps, someone's family home. It is easy to always buy 'new' and never recycle and preserve, but I want something with history and relatively guilt-free.
I am looking for advice on finding, and working on, a house to be moved. Not advice on alternatives
