Log cabin with big 'basement' for sale

Looking for a house in the $750,000 range?

Fix it up a little bit and make each level into a rental unit.

Sorry about that! I'll try to fix it. I'm getting the same message.

It works for me now. Let me know if you still have trouble with it.

Thanks Bud.

Works now! There are some of those things around this part of the country somewhere. Nebraska had more than its share of missile silos back in the day.

There were some within a few miles of here. They were only about 2-3 acre sites, tho. If you know where to look, you can still see one a few hundred feet off one of the local highways. They took the fence down several years ago.

I would be worried that the leader of a nation that hates us would get his hands on some old information and try to bomb my house/silo. j/k

It sure would be fun to take a tour through that place.

That's awesome. Guess the water table must be very low there, or it's a very well sealed basement!

I would totally turn part of that basement into a collocation facility. How many data centers can advertise that the servers are housed in a military grade building?

Sort of gives the notion of "wet basement issues" a whole new dimension. That's a lot of Dryloc....

Guess you could also just not use the last basement section and have a bunch of sump pumps running to keep the water as low as possible. lol.

You'd also need pumps for sewage too. Would definitely need extra infrastructure compared to a normal house, that's for sure, but it would be pretty cool. Just need to have redundancy everywhere. 3 big sump pumps, 2 sewage pumps, 2 air handlers etc...

And there's plenty of space if the kids and grandkids want to move back in.

I wonder what the acoustics would be like in the big silo - built in surround sound?
