Smart Key was released in late 2007. I saw it at IBS in early 2008. This thread was started in 2008. The thread was dead until you used the search function to dig it up so you could crap on it and link to your website, there is no other reason. You didn't look it up so you could learn more about it, and you weren't trying to help out the OP since it is safe to assume he made some decision in the last 24 months. Your agenda is pretty clear. If thinking you are preforming a public service makes you feel better, then let me be the first to say thanks.

The date of release from the factory differs from the date that released at retail outlets.

Yes it was released in 2007, but only to market trials and shows.

The product was originally produced by Weiser lock company in the late 70's but did not get traction until now because of the lock bumping debate.

i have not "crapped on it" as you suggest. It is a product that has it's uses but prior to purchasing it, a customer has a right to all information to make an informed decision. Do you deny the rights of members here to an equal right?

Any website from a company is designed to showcase it's products, so including links to other companies sites should be equally frowned upon and dealt with similarly in this forum, otherwise you are catering to your sponsors and according to the DMCA made law by President Bill Clinton, it is the responsibility for any website or communication medium to quote the source of their articles and if their opinions or criticisms are "paid for" or not.

Your disclaimer at the top, does not allude to whether or not you are being paid by companies to support their products.

My site shows credible authority by linking to the source of the information directly.

You can choose to ignore the facts if you want, but the marketplace doesnt need to be led astray by your non-provable opinions.l

YOU WIN!!

I am exhausted by your circular logic and deflection. I must confess, Kwikset pays me $250,000 per year to defend their products on internet chat rooms. I get a $50,000 bonus if i can make hardcore detractors who dig up two year old threads in order post links to their own websites were they sell compative products look like spammers.

My cover has been blown, so i can no longer comment on this thread. Back to Kwikset headquarters for me. Chips out, Peace!

Ok. one more time since I can earn another $10k bonus from kwikset by pointing out that this product was in retail stores and even sold on amazon in early 2008. you can easily find online reviews that date back this far. It seems like you are constantly giving misinformation, all the while accusing everyone else of conflict of interest and "non-provable" facts

OK, my Smart Key deadbolt is blinking, got another whistle blower to discredit!

Does anyone here care to back up their statements with cold hard facts? Providing a link to the source of your knowledge is appropriate. Otherwise it is just an opinion.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion and the over zealous boyz club here think that it is their responsibility to deny the marketplace of opinions and facts that disagree with their own.

The only reason I posted those links was to support my opinion. My opinion is based on facts that I was substantiating. That you have seen fit to deny me the right to produce the evidence (because it is in a link you do not approve of), you also deny all future readers the right to form their own opinions based on available information.

and as a DIY resource guide, this site should also have a link to it to reclaim some credibility.

Are you still credible? If you've been there maybe you should have stayed?

Time to get some credibility back old timer!
