Kids and their money

He is going to need more practice. Tonight he turned without stopping at a stop sign, almost took out a planter were we went to eat tonight. He is just going to need more wheel time. I have experience with driving Semi's, and also went through Skid Pad training with the company I worked for, when I was driving Big Rigs. Yep, done it all. Worked for a regional air carrier, so got to play with deicing equipment, tugs and other gear.

If I had to choose between my state job, working for the air carrier, or driving big rig, I would have to say the most fun I had was working for the air carrier. The worst I would have to say, was driving semi, due to gone all of the time, and when I did get home, it was not long enough to get anything done, or spend enough time with family. At least now, I am off on weekends and holidays, go in at 8:30 in the morn., and off by 5 to be home in time for dinner.

amen to being home! We all eventually have to learn that we work to support our family, and things we do together. Not for the "company"
Glad you survived the night!

I would've thought a 15yr old's priority would be a Blackberry or a 4G network phone, over a pair of sunglasses. But what do I know. I think those As Seen On TV HD Aviator sunglasses are the bomb.
2 pair for $19.95, just pay additional shipping...

I didn't mean the state laws, I meant the publics attitude to drink driving. As in it's not uncommon for people to drink drive (or so I've heard...).

Because North America is so massive, I would imagine to answer for the public would be too generalized. For sure there is going to be pockets or communities where the social culture is inclined to look the other way, but I think a more accurate answer would be no. Years and years ago it was very common to "have one for the road". Today, with the stiff penalties, the media and organizations like MADD, and education to student drivers, people are getting the message. Particularly young people. They are taught early that it is a major social blunder and it is just their norm to have a designated driver in their group. Education is the key to change of any sort!

I think teenagers always have warped priorities when it comes to money. My son- yes son- just spent an obscene amount of money on a haircut that looks ridiculous.
