keep calm and build a snowman

I hear the hay shortage in some of those drought stricken states is so bad, that even if you can get your hands

on one the price is over $200 per bale. Some people are abandoning their horses in other farm fields.
Yikes

This was taken last month. One of the few snow days we have had this winter.

The big bales run $250-$300 here. You can't even get a bid on horses at the auctions. People offer them for free and get no takers.
Maybe the snow will help, but we are still way short on moisture.

Ouch... thats really sad for the horse owners.

The other day I was driving along and I saw a minivan with a big round stuffed in the back hatch. I couldn't believe my eyes. I tried to catch up so I could snap a picture, but a slow poke was in the way and made us miss the light.

I've no idea how he stuffed it in there or how he was going get it out . One would think if you don't have the truck that day that you might buy a few squares just to get by for the day.

Maybe it was stolen. Although we don't have a shortage or prices that bad

I'm sorry to hear about your harsh winters and conditions. I didn't know it was that bad, and was only joking when I posted the picture from Galveston.

Ha ..no worries ..you haven't bothered anyone. We are hardy Canadians and are just complaining a bit.

There are plenty of ways to enjoy the winter. Here's some pics from Friday.

The kids have to be dragged off the slopes at 930 pm

Looks like fun, but not for me. Anything colder than 70F and I start shivering. I'll take 100+F temps any day.

Thats why we all look so big.. 3 or 4 layers of clothes

One teen was showing off on his snowboard. A tank top only and no gloves. He thought he looked cool until he wiped out. The little ones thought it was hilarious

Heck no, don't be sorry. You didn't force anyone to live in the third world Arctic Circle that is Canada. I'm in Houston, travel to Jamaica Beach (Galveston) quite a bit. While they're up there freezing for no reason I'm in shorts in the water on the second sand bar with a 10' fishing pole.

Ha! We can't be far from each other. I hang out downtown on Postoffice St, or in Bermuda Beach.

No, I don't think that's it. I think it's the fact that we have every fast food restaurant on nearly every block.
