Great!
Here it smells like (and, looks like) Fall.
We know what's going to happen next! -
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... the weather outside is frightful -

Our snow is almost melted though, but I'm sure this is just a tease of what's to come.

It's fun when you have the toys to go play in the snow. I need to invest in a snow blower myself. Sucks clearing 2 feet of snow in the driveway fast enough so I'm not late for work, then the grader passes by.

When I was trying to decide which blower to get I read some consumer reviews. The thing that sold me on the Toro was not only the turn on a dime ability but one guys opinion

"This machine is a beast. If you have anger at your neighbour, let them have their own snowstorm"

I bought it the next day. It really does toss even the heaviest of loads across the yard

Bing Crosby's Christmas songs are the best. Hearing him brings back lots of good childhood Christmas memories. Then there was Perry Como and Nat King Cole.

Andy Griffith had a great voice too.

You can't help but whistle along!

But enough reminiscing for now. Time to make the fruit salad, beer bread and spinach dip for tomorrow . Family reunion time!

Being the kind, considerate person I am, I taste-tested the beer..... just to make sure it's alright for the bread.

Let's hope it doesn't snow here tomorrow (had to mention 'snow' so it doesn't look like I hijacked this thread... )

A family reunion..what fun for you. I hope you have a great time

I bet the bread turned out nice.

If you and Rossi keep talking aboot ( see what I did there) how wonderful snow and Christmas are, there may soon be some openings near the top of my buddy list

Creeper, was that picture taken on the Labrador Highway? I saw some pics a few years back of the machines that were clearing that highway of snow in the spring. Holy cow! Here is one site with some pics, but there are some others that are neat too.

And there were some shots of houses that were buried in snow - pretty cool! But not if it was my house, I guess... .

I have no idea ...I jacked it, but I do have some friends from NFLD. I just love the accent. I could listen to them speak all day.

Red gets his fair share of snow, maybe not quite that bad though

It's usually a lot of fun, as long as we don't start talking about politics.

In a few weeks I'm going to buy a Christmas tree. Artificial. Here's my plan... I'll buy it in early November at Menards (they seem to have prettier trees than the other stores here). Then, the day after Thanksgiving, when they have their big sale (which they have always done in the past), I'll take the receipt to the store and ask for the discount. I hope it works anyway. If I wait until the sale starts, all of the nice ones will be taken.

Now I get it! "If you and Rossi keep talking aboot...". Good one!

You should ask them in advance what their policy is for that sort of thing. Some stores will honour a discount 4 weeks prior and some will only give 2 weeks. Especially for the black friday sale.

You are probably not the first person to try that, so they may be ready for you. But good luck its a good idea

Thanks! I'll call and find out what their policy is. I figured it would be alright, but maybe they won't allow it.

I bought one 2 years ago and within one week after we put it up, 1/3 of the lights wouldn't light - the center strands. So it went back to the store.

I'd rather have a real tree though. There's nothing better than the smell of a fresh-cut Christmas tree in the house to put you in the mood for Christmas.
