It's nice to know....

If things get too tough economically, we can always take advantage of the mobile smörgåsbord in our front yard. We also have tons of fricassee-able hasenpfeffer candidates as well as Bambi's Mom, Dad, cousins and more passing through the yard almost daily/nightly. All I'd need to do is open a window slightly and grab my 12g. Hey, we have an upright freezer.......

Well, I have eaten all those things and plenty more and will say the turkeys might not be very tasty, depending on what they were eating. The last one I brought home, my wife cooked and said, do NOT ever bring another one of these home. It really was pretty bad, lots of acorns I think.

Well, I could always trap a few and fatten them up with corn.

We have corn fields all around here, as well as oak trees, so it's 50/50 as to what they might taste like I guess.
I never tried one from out here.

Acorns are dropping so the deer get a change of diet for a while.

Nice!
Our house is a mile and a half down a dirt road. Our first trip out here while house hunting we saw a sight a lot like that one. I think that decided DH on this house before he even laid eyes on it.

After work one day I walked out to my car after a heavy spring rain. I honestly didn't recognize it. It looked too nice.
Mine's black (blackish).
