I'm quitting

It has nothing to do with the health issues. If it were just that, I would be all for it but if everybody quits smoking, do any of you have any idea where the government is going to collect those lost taxes? If DM doesn't pay those taxes, my taxes will assuredly go up.

So, because I'm a cheap bas**** that doesn't want to pay more taxes,

Don't you miss that relaxing effect it had on you after a nice meal? Don't you miss wandering through the woods; you, the dog, and a nice cigarette?

So, hop in the car and head on down to the store and buy, buy, buy before the government raises my taxes.

I heard a radio talk show host say he's not ever going to quit, because he cares about children.

He said that if he quit, he'd be taking money away that would help pay for their healthcare. He explained it better than I just did. I think he was being serious too.

My brother said he pays almost $7 a pack. Are cigarettes that expensive now?

Yup, I quit cigarettes when they hit $1.00 a pack! I thought that was ridiculous!
I switched to a pipe.... lots cheaper, but just as hard to stop.

Congratulations DM. By quitting smoking taxes will go up but health care should come down. Ya right!
If only I could quit gasoline.

Congrats!

I quit when they hit $2.50 a pack, sometime in the early 2000's I think it was.

Wait till a few more weeks from now when you get into an elevator w/ a smoker. The first time that happens is hillarious.

DH smoked for over 50 years. After many, many failed attempts he finally quit for good five years ago this month. What finally made the difference is Lexapro, prescribed by his doctor. It helped him get past the grouchy, uber irritable times.
