I'm a little lonely this morning.

Sorry to hear that, Mike. After waiting 25 years, I finally have a dog...had to grow up, move out, have my own kids, and buy a house first. She landed on our front porch, shelter-bound, as her owner had passed away, and no one could take her. We sure didn't plan on it but wouldn't change it for anything. It's only been 2 months but she worked her way right into our hearts and I can't imagine our home without her. I wish you the best, and my wife and I send our condolences...

It's always a tough week for some animals.
You can help by going here and playing trivia to help feed animals in shelters.
They donate kibble whether you get the answer right or not.

Same thing here, and you just have to click a button. If you ask, they will send you a daily reminder in your email. I've been doing it for over a year, and other than the daily reminder ( which I requested) they never hassle you at all.

Buddy, we are really sorry that you are hurting. I really do hate the day our little wa wa goes on. We rescued him and what we think was his mother from an animal shelter down in GA. They were to be put to sleep the next day and we just couldn't stand that. One day about two months ago the little female just left and we never have found her. She was really an older dog and we think she got lost, we can only hope someone took her in and gave her a good home.

Our other little feller looks like a tootsie roll in color and shape and is spoiled so bad it isn't funny. We will surely miss him when it is his time, I just can't bear to think of it.

Indeed, it hits you just as hard as loving a person you love. But, as they say, that's a part of life. Gotta pick yourself up and keep moving.

Wow my condolences . That must have been a terrible find. I can't imagine what I'd do if I found my own pet like that. There would be a feeling of great sadness but at the same time a feeling of rage because of how some drivers just drive so unsafely and that it could have been avoided.

Look at adopting another. You can't replace a lost one, but at least having another will somewhat fill the gap.

Thanks Red Squirrel----I don't blame any one for clipping the cat--I live in a rural area with lots of curves in the road and no lights---Things happen sometimes---

I will get a new pet soon enough---I saw a 'free kittens' sign yesterday and slowed down--
Next time I might just stop and write down the number-----Mike-----

Sounds like a plan.

So sorry to hear about your double-whammy of loss. It's tough.

I'm so sorry you lost your little buddies Mike. Getting a new kitten sounds like a good way to soothe an aching heart.

We had to have our little sweetheart Sadie put to sleep a year ago last February. What a terrible time that was.

Every now and then, as I'm walking into the kitchen at night, I look out the slider door to see if she's waiting to come in. It was part of our nightly routine.

One thing that helped was the shadow box DangerMouse made and gave to me. I filled it with some of Sadie's things and a nice picture of her and it's hanging on the wall in the living room. I'm trying to find a picture of it. When I do, I'll post it here.
